Cali Indie-Rock Band, Watch For Horses, Drop Dreamy Single "San Junipero"
Meet the surfer-stoner love child of The Strokes and Best Coast: California indie-rock band, Watch For Horses. Blending surf-rock arrangements with catchy rapid pop rhythms, the quartet have perfected an addictive sound. With a few EPs already under their belt, Watch For Horses have just dropped a brand new single called "San Junipero."
Inspired by the Emmy-winning Black Mirror episode of the same name, "San Junipero" follows a similar trope in which two intrinsically different people manage to fall in love in an alternate universe. Mimicking this fantastical theme, the track is nothing like we've ever heard. The tune opens with vibrant guitar plucks and a steady tropical percussive line. Relaxed vocals sing sweet lines like "I was lost 'til I found you" amid jangly drums and layers upon layers of heavy indie-rock instrumentation. The anthem switches gears halfway through, cutting out percussion for a quick few seconds of shimmering beach-pop guitar. Building atop the minimalist rhythm, the track gains speed and color with bold jolts of drum beats and echoing harmony. On "San Junipero," the guys of Watch For Horses come together for nearly four minutes of rich surf-rock, warm and dynamic in its expert production.
