Canadian Crooner Jeremie Albino's "Hard Time" Is A Brilliant Alt-Folk Feat
There’s a new troubadour in town and his name is Jeremie Albino. Raised in Toronto but now living in Prince Edward County, Jeremie is steadily making his mark as an artist with great depth. Delivering genius after genius, he’s crafting gritty alt-folk tunes led by a croon to swoon over.
In the gripping music video for “Hard Time,” Jeremie doesn’t just give us a song, he gives us a story. Donning his father’s (real!) coveralls and weighed down by work woes, we watch Jeremie trudging through his days as a mechanic while wanting, waiting, and wishing for whatever’s next. “Hard Time” is an in-your-face Americana effort: it swirls with searing rock riffs, hums with the gravel of Jeremie’s strong vocals, and charges forward with gusto, an utterly addictive ode to the working class approached in a thoughtful, wholly creative way. Jeremie is a humble force — “Hard Time” is his “here I am,” a revving, rollicking track begging for repeat action.
