Listen To Charlie Kramer's Folk-Rock Anthem "Bring It Down (Oseh Shalom)"
Los Angeles based singer-songwriter Charlie Kramer is no stranger to song and spirit. For years, he has crafted an amalgamation of folk-rock music that celebrates his Jewish culture. Charlie works hard as a songleader, engaging communities with Hebrew spirituals, but he also combines these with original elements.
We last covered Charlie's work a few weeks ago when he re-released his debut EP, We Will Overcome. Now, he returns with a high-energy single, "Bring It Down (Oseh Shalom)." The track opens with breezy natural sounds that morph into deep thumps of percussion which continue to pulse throughout the length of the song. Charlie's strong, matured voice kicks in, quickly spitting smooth Hebrew verses. The song powers through, electric in its rock melodies. The end of the track samples from a speech, a fuzzy oration encouraging "integrity, meaning, and peace." Here, shrill guitar weaves its way in. The percussion continues to slap. Charlie gets even more fired up. Finally, "Bring It Down (Oseh Shalom)" ends on this powerful note, led out by organic claps and an abrupt plea: "Bring us your peace."
