Zuma Creek Releases Dreamy Single "Way You Feel"
Accompanied by a slew of talented friends offering their instrumental prowess, Florida-based artist Nathan Fugleberg has forged ahead making dreamy tunes under the name Zuma Creek. The band recently released their self-titled debut record, ten tracks dabbling in everything from psych-rock to twang to dream-pop.
On one of the lead singles off the album, “Way You Feel,” Nathan gives words to distance. Hear what he had to say about the track below:
“Way You Feel” is one of the softer, slower instances on Zuma Creek — it’s touched by a sense of nonchalant pining, so even though it spends most of the track lazing, the ultimate takeaway is that there’s a wistful reach for closer love. A fog of hazy melodies and minimalist songwriting that falls right out of the mouth, “Way You Feel” is prodded on by a dynamic unity of bass-and-guitar, flavored by jangling retro-rock and surprising percussive changes. “Way You Feel” is as gentle as the winds and the waves it seems to roll in on — it’s easy to get lost in its soft indie treatment.
