Norwegian Psych-Pop Band, Iffy Orbit, Release Sizzling New Single "Not Good Enough"
Maybe you haven't heard of Iffy Orbit yet, but you will. The Norwegian band is composed of a bunch of friends skipping out on the university experience to make a career out of their funky, colorful tunes full-time. Just last week, Iffy Orbit released their debut album, Slow Times, on Norwegian label Toothfairy. Today, we are happy to share "Not Good Enough," one of the lead singles off the record.
"Not Good Enough" opens with a distant warbling beat, tropical rhythm line, and subtle percussion before breathy vocals come in singing, "It started just like in a dream..." From here on, the song moves through layers of psychedelic arrangements that buzz with electric calm and explode with urgency. The synth beats sparkle with otherworldly, 80s-esque echos while an insistent bassline hammers along beneath the wild fury of vibrant instrumentation. For three minutes, the guys of Iffy Orbit spill their souls for a mesmerizing electro-pop anthem. "Not Good Enough" pulls elements from all the best chart-topping tunes -- alt-rock breakdowns, unexpected vocal versatility, and in-your-face psych-pop melodies -- all of which create a dreamy repeat-worthy track led by impressive instrumental camaraderie.
