Norwegian Alt-Rock Band The Needs Release Killer Single "I Regret It"
Thank god for Norwegian coffee shops. If not for one in Oslo that brought two talented musicians together, indie-rock outfit The Needs might not exist, but they do, so we’ve got no time for mourning what might not have been. Instead, we celebrate that a band as energetic and full-throttle as The Needs are ready to rock with us.
Last month, The Needs released their second single, “I Regret It,” the kind of power-pop anthem designed to be blasted at top volume in a series of scenarios: maybe you’ve got the windows down and the wind whipping your hair. Maybe you’re playing some sick air guitar on top of the principal’s desk. Maybe you’re dancing around the house in your boxers way too close to your imminent pizza delivery. The point is, “I Regret It” is killer. It moves so fast that even its three-minute run time feels like mere seconds, bursting from the get-go into an unrelenting arrangement powered by steady percussion and searing riffs. At its core, “I Regret It” is a frothy, punchy anthem of angst, but beneath its vibrant surface is a skill-set unrivaled by most — The Needs know what they’re doing and they’re doing it with a distinct kind of middle-finger-up passion that makes “I Regret It” a roaring, punkified track you can’t afford to miss.
