Synth-Rock Duo, The Rigs, Release Swirling New Single "Fall Or Fly"
Maybe you haven't heard of The Rigs before, but you've definitely heard their music. The Los Angeles synth-rock duo have placed tons of their original tunes on today's top shows from The Walking Dead to Pretty Little Liars and many more in between. On their newest single, "Fall Or Fly," they prove that they're not going anywhere.
"Fall Or Fly" opens with a woozy electric percussion line, a slick dance rhythm with a little spice. Soon, breathy vocals come in lightly singing eerie lines like "scare me through the night, lover" as a subtle, barely-there harmony creeps underneath. Throughout the track, an otherworldly insistent synth beat throbs. The song suddenly explodes in a passionate fury of multi-instrumentation, layers upon layers of thick indie-rock rhythms before giving way to the lurking tone of melancholy once again. The production of "Fall Or Fly" is meticulous; the instrumental loops are intriguing to the ear and the vocals are taken care of, husky with ghostly vibrato. The song comes to an intense close, pulsing with booms of swollen percussion as the hook is repeated like a mantra.
