Toronto Pop Artist Tilsen Releases Edgy New Single "Doubt"
Toronto is teeming with talent — for your future-pop needs, look no further than Tilsen, a brand new artist already prepared to take over the pop scene.
She burst onto our radar a few months ago with her debut single “Hurts,” a masterful electro-pop anthem stacked with layers of endless sonic detail, each element throbbing with energy. There was nothing subtle about Tilsen’s debut — it packed a punch, an impact that branded our foreheads with “TILSEN 2019.”
With just two singles under her belt so far, 2019 really is Tilsen’s year if we can manage to finagle another single or two from her over the next few months. A few weeks ago, Tilsen released her latest single “Doubt,” another dynamic effort chockful of punchy electro-pop beats and her hot-and-cold vocals.
Hear what she had to say about “Doubt” below:
“Doubt” doesn’t start off as in-your-face as “Hurts” does. There’s a cool wisp to it but there are no buzzy beats being catapulted into a softer arrangement... at least not yet. Instead, it follows a low, looming trajectory towards Tilsen’s versatile vocals before growing into a fizzy, sweetened electro-pop arrangement. For the rest of the track, Tilsen moves through different waves — a breathy comedown backed by beat-laden minimalism and a vibrant explosion pulsing with pop color. Tilsen’s done it again with “Doubt.” Let’s hope more of her volume-up dance anthems are on their way.
