Toronto Pop Artist Lo Lo Delivers Another Bop With "Sweater Collection"
Lo Lo’s in the next wave of pop royalty — today we have Ariana and Shawn Mendes. But soon, if we’re lucky, we’ll have people like Lo Lo, Lyrah, and St. Humain fronting the pop game.
Last year, the Toronto artist released her debut single “Yours” to enormous success. It’s punchy and it’s bubbly and it fizzes, a perfect pop bop. Her latest single “Sweater Collection” tackles more of the self-aware, tongue-in-cheek narratives Lo Lo writes best.
Hear what Lo Lo had to tell The Music Mermaid about the new single here:
“Sweater Collection” kicks off with big, plinking beats hitting hard before Lo Lo’s soulful voice comes in dropping quick verses that narrate a series of past loves… and the hoodies they left Lo Lo behind with. The song starts with a dark, dreamy base but once the magnetic chorus hits, it bursts open with more of that fizzy electro-pop we’ve come to love from Lo Lo. Synth swells and percussive slaps add color to the composition while she delivers line after line of relatable witticisms. “Sweater Collection” is unapologetically pop in all its buzzing glory — yet another addictive bop from a voice becoming increasingly louder in the pop music scene.
